Frequently asked questions
What if I don't sign up on 8to18.com?
This is a safety problem as you are signing off that you know your student is with us after school and that you are allowing your student to tryout. The coaches and athletic director need to know who is in the room at all times for emergencies. This also slows down checking the cheerleaders in for tryouts which will cause your cheerleader to have less time to learn and practice the routines. Please see the homepage for directions on how to sign up for tryouts. If your student shows up without registering ahead of time, we will not have any of her/his emergency information readily available during the tryouts.
Is there a fee and what forms need to be turned in?
Cheerleaders must buy their shoes, body suit, socks, and bows. Ordering information will go home at the first practice. A physical must be turned in and be valid in the past year to tryout. All 6th graders had an entrance physical which can dual as a sports physical if the doctor checked interscholastic sports on the back of the physical. You may check to see your physical information on your Skyward account or call your school nurse at WBO. There are no additional forms needed to turn in, the parent permission form and concussion form are signed off during online registration.
Does my child need to be at tryouts all 3 days?
Tryouts will run three days. Day 1 will be teaching the material and day 2 will be the tryouts. Cheerleaders should plan to attend both days 1 and 2. Callbacks will be on Day 3. We will learn an additional cheer and also show the routines from the first tryout. Please email the coach if you need further clarification.
How many days a week is practice?
Practice is 4-5 days a week after school at WBO from 2:30 to 4:00pm.
Is there transportation home from practice?
